Lahudood halts European dominance

The $2m Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf is usually a sanctuary for the Europeans, who have won the race  three times in the last four years.

This time it was the turn of the Americans to take the race with Lahudood, trained by Kiaran McLaughlin. Lahudood had been supplemented by owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum for $180,000.

Henry Cecil's race favorite, Passage of Time, ran best of the foreign contingent, coming third. Honey Ryder was second while fancied Nashoba's Key filled fourth spot with All My Loving fifth and Timarwa sixth.
