Santa Anita will become the first racetrack to host the Breeders Cup festival of racing for two years running. The Californian racecourse hosts the Breeders Cup in 2008 (October 24 & 25) and now in 2009 as well. It has been decided that the 2009 event will be run on November 6 and 7. Santa Anita’s new all-weather track has been plagued by drainage problems recently and the course missed several fixtures in a bid to solve the issues. Recent news of the decision to let the track to host the 2009 Breeders Cup is a timely boost to Santa Anita's fortunes.
