Breeders Cup Latest George Washington Breeders Cup Classic Bound |
|
Hero of last year’s 2000 Guineas and subsequent flop at stud, George Washington, is headed for the Breeders Cup Classic and the lure of its $5million purse. The enigmatic George Washington finished only sixth to Invasor in the Classic last year under jockey Mick Kinane, after travelling ominously well for a long way. Kinane looks most likely to take the reins again as Kieren Fallon is banned from riding in the states and is in the middle of defending a court action, accused of allegedly failing to ride horses on their merits. As well as George Washington, trainer Aidan O’Brien has a number of other Breeders Cup hopefuls. Others likely to make the trip for the Irish trainer maestro to Monmouth Park are Excellent Art (Breeders Cup Mile), Dylan Thomas (Breeders Cup Turf), Achill Island (Juvenile Turf) and the filly All My Loving (race to be decided).
